My Dream Laundry Room

Do you ever scroll through Pinterest and drool all over your laptop as you flip through different photos of aesthetic and beautiful laundry rooms? Oh, just me? Okay then, moving on (LOL).

Not gonna lie, I know what it feels like to not own your own in-unit washer and dryer…and it SUCKS. After experiencing the dreadful day of finding dog food come out of my washed clothes in a shitty apartment washer, I told myself “THAT’S IT. THE NEXT TIME I MOVE, I BETTER HAVE THE LAUNDRY ROOM OF MY DREAMS!”

Fast forward a few months later, I am now happy to announce that I have achieved the laundry room aesthetics that I’ve always wanted. Therefore, I thought I’d walk you guys through a quick lil tour of what pieces currently make up my tiny and homely laundry room.

Washer & Dryer

First off, I have to thank my Dad for buying the Samsung washer and dryer for me from Costco as a move-in present. Before I could even address what living essentials I needed for my move, my Dad was already one step ahead of me (probably from his prior living experience, LOL) and bought me the washer and dryer in WHITE (every influencer’s fave color - hah) so I am both gracious and appreciative of this thoughtful gesture.

So far, my washer and dryer have been working perfectly for months and I love how the circular toggle button makes these so easy to use! And best of all? There’s no more dog food coming out of my clothes!

Laundry Baskets

If you guys haven’t heard of Yamazaki Home already, you need to get on their website ASAP! Yamazaki Home is truly every minimalist’s dream, as they carry a variety of aesthetic and useful household products that can be used in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, laundry room, and more. When I was browsing on their website, I was truly in love and wanted to add EVERYTHING to my shopping cart, but had to refrain so that my bank account wouldn’t cry later.

After browsing meticulously through their website, I KNEW I had to own their laundry baskets. Cute, functional, and minimal - what’s not to love about these laundry baskets? Plus, they have a cute bamboo handle and wheels to make this product both chic and useful! You already know that one laundry basket was not enough, so I got TWO - one for my everyday clothing and one for whites. Yeahhhh, I’m OCD like that (haha)."

Laundry Room Sign

After scrolling for hours on Pinterest, I realized that no laundry room was “complete” without the iconic" laundry room sign. I love how different stores carry unique versions of this sign and I happened to stumble upon one that I loved from World Market.

Laundry Room Rug

I have never taken for granted a cute laundry room rug (or mat). Honestly, rugs and mats are quite underrated, as they really tie in a room together and make it look a lot more cozy and cohesive.

I bought this striped grey and white rug from Target and it fit PERFECTLY in my laundry room! No regrets on this purchase at all and it also calms my OCD just a tad a bit when any falling clothes from the washer/dryer hit the rug instead of the tile floor.

Cute Plant & Vase

Is your laundry room now looking cute AF, but there’s still something missing? That spark? That cherry on top? I gotchu.

Most often than not, you’re probably missing a decor piece that ties the room together. If I had to guess without looking at your laundry room, I bet that a nice faux (or real!) plant will definitely spruce up the space with a touch of greenery and nature.

In my photo, the eucalyptus is REAL and I bought it from Trader Joe’s (it comes in a bundle and it’s SO cheap!). As for the multi-colored wicker basket and glass vase enclosed within the basket, I bought those as a set from Homeology in Mission Viejo. If you LOVE Homegoods, you will LOVE Homeology. I literally spend $200 every time I go there and even though I make my wallet sad temporarily, my purchases make myself happy permanently (LOL I better not use this phrase every time I justify my spending habits).

What items would you include in your dream laundry room? Have I missed any essentials?
