Do you want to know just how important staying hydrated is to me? These days, I literally joke with my friends that I am a redwood tree because I need to drink gallons and gallons of water per day, LOL! Honestly, there are so many health benefits that come with staying hydrated that I’ve partnered with Collective Bias Inc. & The Coca-Cola Company to share a few reasons why YOU should make sure that you’re on top of your hydration game as well.

First off, let’s go over the shocking fact that the average everyday person does not drink the daily recommended amount of water per day (which is 8 - 15 cups of water per day). Gasp! Since the human body is comprised of 60% water, we must stay properly hydrated throughout the day if we want to maintain, or increase, our performance in work, fitness, and overall, life. Because of our fast-paced society, it’s difficult to make hydration a priority, which is why I’m about to shed some light on how we can change things for the better! ;)

But before we get started, I first off wanted to introduce to you guys to a brand called smartwater , a water bottle brand that you can find at your local Target!

Specifically, you can find smartwater in the “Drinks” section at Target OR stocked in the mini refrigerators near each of the check-out registers! With all of this inventory, there’s no excuse NOT to stay hydrated! ;)

Drinking the daily recommended amount of water per day will boost your performance in all areas in life.

To convince you to start drinking more water per day (unless you already do, then kudos to you!), I’ll just leave a BUNCH of key facts on WHY you should stay hydrated!

  • Promotes cardiovascular health

  • Keeps muscles & joints working

    • Removes toxins/waste from your body and makes you more limber!

  • Cleanses toxins from your body (however, this does mean multiple trips to the bathroom for Mich, hah)

  • Balances blood sugar

  • Relieves headaches

  • Promotes healthy skin

  • Maximizes physical performance

  • Promotes weight loss

    • Boosts metabolism & helps you stay/feel “full” longer.

    • Minimizes hunger.

  • Improves brain function

    • Boosts your energy levels

  • Hydrates your body

Keep a water bottle with you at all times - your work desk, the dinner table, your next workout. Treat it like you treat your cellphone! ;)

As a social media influencer and manager, I am constantly on my phone for work-related purposes. Pretty much, you can find me inseparable from my phone. Why can’t this be the same for water?

Note to self - Michelle, bring your water bottle where you would bring your phone. No excuses!

On-the-go? Bring a purse that can FIT a water bottle!

I’m constantly guilty of making it fashion. In other words, I will bring a smaller purse or clutch with me to events so that it matches my outfit. As much as my #ootd might look great that night, my hydration levels will probably look the exact opposite. These days, I make it a huge effort to bring a spacious bag with me (regardless of the event) so that I can always have a water bottle with me at all times.

Buy extra water bottles if needed! It’s better to be MORE hydrated than dehydrated.

If you know that you’ll be running-around-like-a-headless-chicken busy for the following week (or month), do yourself a favor and buy a large case of water or multiple water bottles to prepare you for the craziness that life throws at you! I know that when I’m juggling multiple work tasks/deadlines, followed by hitting the gym, eating a decent meal, and showering, drinking 8 - 15 cups of water per day will NOT be on the first thing on my to-do list. By having a water bottle on supply and nearby (that coincidentally rhymes, whoa!) at all times, you’re doing your body a favor on being able to drink water any time of the day.

Now, after reading this blog post, are you going to change your hydration game to be the very best?
